Barbara Wilkes

She knows her stuff. The course is THE foundation for entire MBA. You've got to give it everything you have to pass. Great text book but very difficult to score well with her. She has no mercy whatsoever ... as if students are in sort of a competition! Work you a** off for a B. Would not take another course with her, doesnt have to be this hard.

One of the least helpful profs I've ever encountered. If you have Prof Wilkes my advice is to read the textbook cover to cover and attend every lecture. Emails go unanswered and she is quite flippant when you go to ask her questions in person.

It's a case of you get out what you put in; by bringing a good work/study ethic to this course, the reward was a deeper, more comprehensive understanding and perspective on the different issues discussed by a teacher with first hand experience of her subject - a good Prof rated 2 thumbs up. anon (IP address unregistered)

Barbara is very diligent and super organized, makes you work for every decimal of your mark. There are 4 quiz, 2 exams and one big assignment including presentation. Each of these take min 20 hrs prep. Gotta give it 6-10 hrs of work per week. Quizes are from "lyryx" labs whereas Exam multiple choices are from "Connect". Get new book with Connect.

Hard course, two semesters worth crammed into one. Well structured, but moved at a lightning pace. Prof was helpful when emailed and approached, but put a lot of emphasis on learning from the book and trying, before approaching her.

Disappointingly not helpful!
