Karthikeyan Umapathy

He was confusing at the beginning of the semester, but gradually the topics were easier to understand. His lectures were quite useful. Exams aren't too hard as long as you practice, and the final grade seems to have been curved.

Professor Umapathy is a good lecturer, and answers questions adequately. His lectures are mainly just taking everything from the textbook and making it relevant and easier to understand. He also takes a bunch of examples from the textbook and solves them. You could skip and learn everything from the textbook, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Machine learning course. He is super knowledgeable and is a very old school notes taking kind of guy. Because he teaches so well and thoroughly, he will test you the same way so you better know your stuff well. In his office hours he is very helpful and will explain a concept several ways until you get it.

Amazing professor. Does not do examples but will teach the fundamentals. Read textbook to understand concepts but he will go through everything with detail. Very fair and very good

Well respected. He is super organized and knows whats going on with the labs and plans everything in coordination. He will always be willing to help and explains thing well. He can be tough as a lecturer but you can't fault someone for working hard and making sure students are actually learning.

You can tell he really puts effort into his lectures and has no problems helping you after class provided you made a reasonable effort. Read more than is given in lecture. His tests are EXTREMELY difficult, but he is a reasonable man and marks generously.
