While Wey Leong is a nice guy, I would avoid taking his class at all costs in the future. Midterm is significantly harder than the other professors. The material he posts is short, but his notes get straight to the point. He has the say in the final exam, his questions will better prepare you for it. Don't expect a curve, he never provides it.
Wey Leong is a nice human. However, his inability to empathize with students struggling to pass the course makes him a terrible professor. His midterms and tests are way too difficult and further worsened by his egregious marking. The project tho ughinteresting, was conducted on buggy software and also marked harshly.
Your standard, run of the mill proff. Lectures are a little light, I prefered self study. However, can't say lectures are useless, does some good examples. A nice prof too, labs are reasonable. Found him to be the most generic proff i've had yet, which in my opinion is a good thing, not unpredictable. Study hard and you'll get a good mark!
Dr. Leong cannot teach well. His lecture notes are very short and he skims through them in class, assuming we already know the content. His multiple choice are hard however long answers are doable.
One of the worst profs I've had at Ryerson. One can tell that his knowledge is high but he cannot deliver it. Boring lectures, he drags you to his lectures with pop-up quizzes. The final exam was beyond the level of his suggested problems and examples.
Amazing lectures! His notes are so organized, I suggest print them before class and highlight/note things down. He's also a sweet guy who really wants you to learn. Going to class is IMPORTANT if you want a decent grade because he sums up everything you need. I know people who skipped but then struggled a lot to learn the material on their own.
IVE BEEN IN HIS CLASS FOR 30 MINUTES AND MAN DROPS THE MOST ZEN SPEECH ABOUT THE CYCLE OF LIFE AND CONTROLLING YOUR KARMA. IT TURNED INTO A MOTIVATIONAL SPEECH ABOUT SELF CONFIDENCE. I HAVE NEVER FELT SO GOOD ABOUT MYSELF UNTIL THIS COURSE
One of the best profs I've had, period! Great guy, and explains very hard material in a very reasonable manner. Genuinely wants his students to succeed and get something out of the course.
His lecture notes are excellent. During lecture, he just goes through the notes. Only reason to go to lectures is when he teaches the software for the design project. If you go through the notes and practice questions from the textbook, you'll be allright.
Out of all the courses that i learned at Ryerson this was the most helpful towards finding a job after i graduated. Therefore you should learn as much as you could, Dr. Leong's assignments and specially that residential house project made me get a lot of interview when i put in my resume after graduation. Best course and definitely best professor.
