Horrible Professor! Says she is willing to help you I sent her 4 questions over the course of the semester all about helping me with a question or something I was stuck on and she would respond with what felt like a copy paste answer that was never related to my question. By far the worst professor I have had at Ryerson.
I took fin300 in winter 2021 online. I would not take it again because it was not taught well, which made the course extremely difficult. The prof just read off the slides.
Jean Wills was an okay prof. She knows what she's teaching but the only problem is that she reads off the slides. She has a monotone voice which was hard to focus on as well. Not really the greatest or worse prof out there but she is mediocre. I would not recommend taking her for any FIN courses.
This course gave me depression. Prof Jean Wills seems nice but she's just so bad at teaching. Not sure if it's her or the course, but I'm genuinely considering switching majors so I never have to take another FIN course ever again.
First time I've ever considered dropping out of university. This has been the most stressful setting I've been in in my entire academic career. She'll tell you to teach yourself & even if you go to her for help, she'll shew you away. Her only goal is to rush and finish class hours early, even if you beg her to slow down & elaborate.
THE WORST! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! This professor literally sets you up for failure. Need help? She'll ask you to look at textbook. Cant figure out how to solve an equation? She'll tell you to google it. Not only does she not teach, she makes the tests/quizzes timed so unreasonably, most of the class never ends up finishing the whole thing on time
Dr. Jean took the time outside of her work hours to answer my questions. Im comfortable with her teaching style and look forward to joining her FIN401 class.
Avoid her at all costs. very Montone during her online lectures, doesn't put half the stuff you need to know into the slides. doesn't know the course content herself and often says to refer to the course outline but that contradicts what she said in class. couldn't accommodate when i had a power outage either. official complaint has been made.
Would take again. Jean has good decks posted (not like other profs) and she answer my emails when i ask her questions. This course is not easy but Jean makes it easier.
I can understand why her rating is low because she doesnt teach she just reads off the slides. However, her slideshows are the best as it give solutions to the in class examples demonstrated. She also posts a bunch of midterm and final exam practices with solutions to each question on how to answer them. Her own practice ones are similar to real 1
