Great prof. Don't think that just reading will get you by, go to the classes.
Hands down my favourite prof. I don't think I've ever gotten along with a professor so well before. It's evident she loves the topic, and she makes the lectures really interesting and relevant to modern society. She's absolutely hilarious and I can honestly say I've never felt bored in her class. It's clear she really cares about her students.
Professor Bailey is very knowledgable about the english and it's very evident. However, she tends to deviate from the topic at hand very quickly. Sometimes she speeds up her speech, and notes on black board are much better than in class. However, she cares about her students and tries to make the lectures entertaining.
Not amazing, not horrible. Tolerable. Cons: disorganized, rambles on about unrelated topics, can't keep track of what was taught last class, uninspiring. Fair marker. I put in honest work and got an 89. Exams are pretty easy (fill in blank, MC, essay). Was hard to get a good mark on essay, though. There are marks for attendance/participation.
She's amazing. I'm not sure why people are making her out to be a hard grader. She doesn't just hand out marks, and nor should she. If you work hard and support your arguments well, you'll do well. She does an excellent job of teaching an otherwise boring course. She also makes it relevant.
She is an easy marker if you agree with her opinions (very liberal). She talks about herself a A LOT. I had a three hour lecture with her and we did work maybe one hour of that, talked about things she was interested in the rest of the time. I would NOT recommend that you take classes with her. Ever. I learned nothing, except about her life.
While she has made me laugh (notably when she said "thank god for painkillers"), she is my least favourite prof at Ryerson. The rate at which we cover the material is astoundingly slow. I have never heard a prof ramble on that much. This woman needs a filter.
She's very informative and professional.
She's not a good Prof!!! She does not teach relevant material. She rambles on and on about current events and what the headlines are in various commuter newspapers, but she does NOT teach academic writing or research. She's disorganized and dimwitted.
