He's a great prof if you actually show up. He explains everything clearly during lectures, so nothing is rushed or skipped. His notes look messy, but the explanations make it click. Easy A+ if you put in basic effort. The bad ratings are honestly undeserved.
Five stars. Bala is an exceptionally optimized circuits instructor whose teaching style is both distinctive and highly effective. He walks constantly during lectures, creating an almost kinetic learning environment that keeps everyone alert and engaged. His frequent references to his doctor add a strangely charming consistency to his teaching perso
Im going to say one thing, I do respect him for giving D2L quiz tutorials and I thank Dr. Jassar for the midterm. But when it comes to the final it was out of the books. He's pulling in random stuff never seen or taught by my prof. Best way to perpare for that exam was to study for ELE202. Nothing like the review or past exams.
99% chance you will have to take 302 with him. He always makes the final and other prof will make the MT. MT will be super easy, and you HAVE to ace it, because Bala's final is designed to drop the high average from the MT. Whatever question type he says will be on the final, make sure you can do it BACKWARDS, because that's what he'll give you.
I took ele302 in W2024 and this guy made the most cooked final exam ever. Exam was such a poor way to test our knowledge of stuff in the course and it was barely anything we had. I went to his first few lectures, and his teaching style isn't that good. Thankfully Jassar was teaching this as well so I got saved.
Could barely understand a single thing from his lectures. I would honestly much rather go through a silent powerpoint if it meant the notes were legible. Final exam tested ELE202 more than ELE302 topics and he didn't even warn the class about it.
Writes probably the most unintelligible lecture notes I have ever seen, that you might as well not attend lectures and just use the textbook. Unfortunately, he also wrote the exams that challenge you more on your ELE202 knowledge more than ELE302, which means you might as well study ELE202 if you have the basic concepts of 302 down.
He makes the finals papers and he managed to make the most ridiculous ELE 302 paper that was given in more than a decade(literally). The last chapter in the course is Fourier series where one question comes from that topic but the question he put in the paper didn't even have fourier series in it. Literally questions in the paper we had no prep for
lies about not making the final and then will COOK you with the final.
Managed to make the final nothing like what we expected. Every professor tried to teach what is normally on the final in a way that students would be ready as they cover the same things every year. This guy went and changed the whole script. Didn't see a single person leave that final happy. In the section for Fourier there was indeed no Fourier.
