Dyson is easily my favourite professor. He makes his lectures interesting and really cares for the students. He uses really relatable examples and makes sure you understand. His tests are short but fairly easy if you pay attention and the labs aren't bad either.
Professor Dyson is seriously the best prof. His multiple choice tests are extremely short (25 multiple choice) but they all come from class discussion. He is also extremely understanding, if for some reason you have issues going on in your life he'll give you an extension no questions asked. He is my favourite prof, if you can take his class do it
The lectures tend to be general. However, the textbook is amazing and organizes the material so that it's easier to make connections and remember. Going to class and reading the textbook = better understanding overall. Exams have very few questions so mistakes make more of a difference. If you ask for help you'll get it.
He's a really, really sweet guy and I truly enjoyed him, but my lecture was 3 hours in the DSQ from 3-6, and I am NOT an evening learner, so I didn't do as well in this class because I couldn't concentrate in the DSQ. Do attend classes though, because lots of content that he verbalizes shows on the exam/test. And study, it is hard.
Very good prof. You absolutely HAVE to go to lecture & pay attention as the slides he posts on Blackboard are very vague. The textbook is very helpful & you will use it a lot. Also, Dyson is very helpful and approachable if you have questions.
Nice guy and very helpful. Good lecturer too.
Very nice professor & very approachable if you have questions. I personally didn't get much out of his lectures, 200+ people chattering in a movie theatre for 3 hours makes paying attention extremely difficult. If you're taking this class, don't hesitate to contact him or the TA with questions. Also, read the textbook this one is immensely helpful
Really great prof, even though I never attended class. Maybe because the class was in a movie theatre and it ruined my vibe. Cool guy.
Best professor I've ever had. He loves his subject, stays focused, encourages participation and cares about the students. The tests are not hard at all, it is exactly what he teaches you. I would suggest talking psychology of thinking even if you don't want to go into psychology(me) it gives you a better understanding of the people and the world.
The lectures can be hard to follow at times, so it's important to attend class. He does not post power point slides, he posts outlines as word documents. Most test content comes from lecture, but it can be useful to read the textbook for clarification.
