With her class being asynchronous, she hosted weekly webinars to explain weekly topics and answer any questions. I found her and the TAs to grade pretty hard and their feedback did not match the grade given. She is responsive, however the class itself felt disorganized, especially since they updated the assignments and exam this term.
Esther is very kind but she does not have clear assignment details. Every assignment only had one paragraph detailing what was expected. She would randomly add assignments throughout the semester and details that she wanted included in the assignments that weren't in the description. This course was very confusing and hard to follow
Most difficult class. I worked so hard in that class but at the same time felt like I learned nothing..
DST 501 changed my life. Thank you Esther.
First semester - distance learning. Great experience. Thanks.
Prof Ignani, is super sweet and kind. She loves her interactive communications. For this specific course it was a hybrid, meaning it was predominantly online but we also had to meet twice a month onsite. She is super chill, and you can ask her anything. This class was one of my favorites this semester, but there are a lot of work to do. Be prepared
Very chill demeanor, listens well to students' opinions, loves discussion. EXTREMELY accommodating w due dates, attendance. Practically gives out her home phone number to help you. Knows what she's talking about, actively involved in community work and has a long history in social justice. Very intersectional. Lots of guest speakers! Best class.
She is a wonderful teacher and I've learned SO much from her. She's a brilliant mind and is very open to others opinions/thoughts on the subject. That being said - she is a very hard marker and I found it hard to get anything above a B in her class. The teacher and class are extremely interesting though - life changing.
She is a fantastic prof and a wonderful human being! Loved going to class; never a dull moment except once when we had a substitute teacher. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE. You should take the class; it will change the way you think!
I thoroughly enjoyed her class. Found her inspiring and amazingly helpful. Takes an incredibly long time to return assignments.. went practically the whole term without receiving anything back. She marks pretty harshly as well. I emailed her repeatedly and still haven't gotten some of my marks 3 months later!
