Alan Faigal

Alan overall cares about his students success while keeping their mental health in mind which a lot of profs lack. If you communicate with him he will support you with what you need while also holding you accountable to succeed in the course.

I took Alan's course over 7 years ago and I still think about the things I have learned from him. Particularly, he is very knowledgeable about anti-bias and inclusion which helped me reflect on my own biases, how I interact with others, and how to teach in a way that is reflective and inclusive. He is also funny and engaging.

Alan was an okay professor. He can kind of be really unapproachable at times and sometimes when you ask him questions about assignments or try to get help with essays he can make it seem like you are being stupid. During his lectures, he can do good at making the content engaging. Overall, I would take this course again but I would get another prof

Alan is by far one of the best profs I have ever had. It's so easy to pay attention in his class and his midterms are super straight-forward. Honestly I hope to have him in future classes.

I recommend Alan's section for CLD332. He is an approachable and helpful professor who cares about his students' learning. You will also tell that he is dedicated toward the course topics. His assignments are also fair and prepares you for the exam. There is no textbook use, but there are some required articles.
