Just go to class, listen carefully, participate and get an A. It is that simple.
switch out if you are a begginer in french
Lil Allain is the worst prof I've ever had. I highly recommended any and everyone to avoid taking her class at all costs. She expects you to know everything she's teaching and flies through things too quickly.
She is a very knowledgeable yet tough instructor. If you take her class (and work hard and do well) you are actually pretty much covering levels 2 as well! She is very helpful and accommodating (need to tell her if you'll be missing a session and she personally makes sure you get access to all material and homework). Excellent accent!
i took intro to french with her last spring and it was a big mistake! she's rude, ignorant and has her favourites. avoid taking a class with her!!!
I came into this course both interested and excited to learn the basics of French. lili made it a nightmare. she acts very, VERY snobby and I found it very annoying. she sucked the fun out of this course, totally not what I was expecting when I enrolled into fre101. I don't even want to learn french anymore. she was the absolute WORST!!!
She seemed rude and not really helpful. Her assignments were not exactly "beginner" level. She expected us to know the basics when clearly the course is an introductory one. Need to study hard to achieve good. overall a 2.75/5
Prof Allain is short and rude with students and appears extremely unhappy to be in class. She does not welcome questions, going so far as to ignore requests for clarification. Lectures consist of completing textbook exercises out loud without prior explanation of grammar used, though this does help improve your pronunciation.
She's a very nice person however, her class is quite difficult if you've only taken up to gr 10 french in high school. She relies heavily on the book and it's mostly self-study in class. I found it extremely difficult with her and the assignments feel difficult for a beginner 200 level class...
