The problem sets are great mark boosters, definitely have to put in time and effort, but there are usually 5+ sets to balance the grade. His lectures are really hard to follow. He doesn't reply to emails (or at least on time). He makes a lot of mistakes which costs us time.
He's okay but doesn't answer his emails that's really freakin annoying. And I go to class, read the manual and read his ppt and there are still questions in the tests that are not covered in class or in the manual. Probably doing something wrong on my hand but idk what since he won't answer his damn emails
If you ever have the chance to take this prof for any Finance course, you must do so. He will teach you everything you need to be successful in his class. Love this prof so much.
Inglis is a very knowledgeable prof and a nice guy, he really knows the course inside and out. However, he teaches very fast and it gets hard to keep up with his examples in class. His exam questions are difficult and it is important to attend class since he doesnt post solutions to in class problems online.
Does NOT answer emails! Be prepared for class, he goes very quick through instructions, and know your stuff from FIN300401 and some excel knowledge would be very helpful. Must practice material outside of class
A nice, friendly guy. Tries to help students as much as possible. DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF THINKING TEXTBOOK QUESTIONS WILL HELP YOU FOR HIS EXAMS. They won't. That's a tip you need if you take Inglis. Otherwise, he's great, but difficult class.
Mike is a good & helpful prof. He makes his own notes which is very helpful. But he goes very fast in class.
Amazing guy. Take his class if you want to learn. Derives all formulas, and goes really fast. Read the material before class and it'll all be crystal clear.
Mike is an amazing prof when it comes to explaining the concepts and going over the quantitative questions. Instead of reading off the useless textbook slides he makes his own which have many examples useful for the tests. Finance is a tough subject, but Mike makes sure to go through everything and is the best finance prof at Ryerson by far.
Very monotone voice, as a result after the first 15 minutes of class hard to stay focused and pay attention. Goes through material very quick and does not give bathroom breaks. Online quizzes very easy. 60% final the hardest exam I have ever written in my 3 years at Ryerson.
