If you don't like Philosophy then don't take a class that starts with PHL,if you do however and are willing to read the textbook, which was just portions of other books, are competent and listen to her audios this class is easy. Don't miss deadlines answer the questions how she explains on quizzes and you will be fine. back up your points in essays
No clear grading scheme, audio lectures do not assist with what she wants you to learn. no formal lecture, just a chat box to have in class discussion. Very disorganized and unstructured
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Terribly organized, and a horrific grader with esoteric marking criteria. The class is formatted horribly, and will give you 0s with absolutely zero feedback. Ignores students concerns.
Honestly, I hardly went to class (like 4 times for the whole semester) and still got a 4.0. Everything is pretty much lecture based but for essays I pulled material from the textbook which worked great (she gave me 100% on my essay). Straight-forward marker, uses interesting course concepts, lecture is a bit heavy, but a really nice woman :)
Smart, but poor at sharing her knowledge with others. Her monotone speech, paired with her tendency to jump from subject to subject at random, makes every lecture extremely confusing. She would often make comments to the class like "why is everyone giving me blank stares", seemingly aware that her students are barely following along...
This prof is nice, at times. She answers your questions but I've noticed that questions sent to her via email are not given much consideration; instead, she answers in a rude way. However, the class itself is rather nice and tends to be based on class discussion and having done the readings (took it during the Summer Term).
A very intelligent professor, knowledgable but open to criticism and different opinions. Encourages debate and discussion on all topics but doesn't call out students for not participating. Participation marks depend on quality of class discussion.
I took a philosophy of art class with her in the summer. It was one of my favourite classes during university. She was very pleasant and her class was very enlightening. Years after the class I still have the power point slides she created because they were so great.
Not helpful at all, makes you feel horrible for asking for clarification, does not care about helping students improve or learn- just
One of the worst professors I've taken in three years. Her lectures don't actually teach you anything but consist of her giving you HER opinion on how the world works. 95% of what she says contradicts itself that it's funny. Not helpful at all. Her grading system doesn't make any sense. Avoid her at all costs.
