Tanner Mirrlees

Dr. Mirrlees is the epitome of what a professor should be like. He's crystal clear, passionate, generous, and VERY easy on the eyes. I definetly agree with one of the below comments: I don't want to reccommend anyone else taking his class just so that I will be the last one to love him!!!! I would definitely take another class he's teaching!

Great teacher and great class with interesting class subject matter materials. He is a good public speaker that utilizes new media to facilitate the course's objective. Recommend to anyone and everyone.

I enjoyed his class so much that I want to say do not take it so that I will be the last one who loved him! HAHA He's crystal clear, prepared, flawless, organized, enthusiastic, fair marker (NOT easy but you know his expectations exactly), structured, helpful & kind. He's the best professor I've ever had. Plus he got a [burning] hot pepper so far

Tanner is one of the most interesting faculty members at Ryerson. Very enthusiastic, and engages his students with interesting display of YouTube videos, news clips, etc; though, his lecture slides are an absolute mess, full of paragraphs of text! i.e.one need NOT read the assigned readings. Fair marker, a course with Tanner is highly recommended!

Great class. No complaints with Tanner as a prof.I regret not trying harder in his class. He's a fair marker and doesn't expect you to know much compared to other teachers. His class is easy to pass but you do have to do a bit more work if you want a decent mark. Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend him.

Very enthusiastic about what he teaches. Knows the material and is helpful. A nice guy. Class was pretty good with discussions mixed with lectures. I'm going to miss that class.

He was by far one of the best profs I've had at RYE. Very engaging and interesting. Also knowledgable and approachable. His tests and assignments were fair and straight forward- very clear with is expectations. I highly recommend this course! Fair marker- you will do well if you put effort. If you don't put effort you'll end up with min. B

Tanner is very knowledgeable in politics of technology. Makes your think more about the world around us. His teaching style is superb (honestly the best and energetic professor I have ever seen in my 5 years at Ryerson). From all the classes I have taken this semester- I was really looking forward to attend POL507.
