Very slow, boring, and gets off topic ALL THE TIME. You are way better off doing the textbook on your own. He's pretty useless. Before the midterm even, he tried teaching a short lesson that he forgot to teach us that was on the exam. Just aweful
sometimes loses track of what he's saying but overall not bad
this class was dreadful but got a 67% on homework failed first test badly 70% on the second test aced the final and ended up with an A- in the course, whats good is that he bellcurves. doesnt teach very well but it helps if u listen in class, and make friends with someone who took the course before. Overall the course isnt too hard.
Professor McKessock is an amiable instructor. The majority of this course will entail that the student does the work without need of the instructor. I did not learn from going to classes, but from a friend who had taken the course before. I was not impressed with the textbook, it was too into theory, not even practice. I learned from the homework.
His classes are ok, as long as you pay attention. Basically uses Excel for all calculations so it makes it easier on the student instead of having to enter in complex formulas in a calculator. Overall it's a decent class if you know how to use the Excel template he provides.
You don't need the textbook to do well. I skip a lot of his classes and only go for topics I'm having trouble with. I never listen during lectures and only makes notes on examples given on the board. Only studied off of ehw for tests. Overall did pretty good. Not as bad as everyone makes him seem.
Really nice guy. A lot of people complain about his teaching style, but I think that as long as you attend classes and listen carefully, you'll be fine. Don't believe him that you don't need a book in this course. Pay attention to formats in assignments! Also, never try to reach him by email - he won't reply.
This class was DREADFUL. He does not explain the concepts at all and for some reason uses Excel to teach when there is really no use for it if you know how to use a calculator. Another thing he would do is contantly switch due dates for homework. So instead of being due on Sunday, it could be Tuesday, or Thursday or whatever. Beware of that.
makes course material harder than it is, jolly and helpful man, got an A+ in his class without textbook mainly because I took lecture notes and sat at the very front.
He's very clear in his lessons and great at teaching the concepts. He told the class not to buy the textbook saving me $200 and I still finished with an A+. Don't listen to all these low ratings. They're probably coming from all the people that skipped on a weekly basis. Just go to his lectures, take notes and you'll be fine.
