Exams are a multiple-choice hell with like 120 for the midterm and 200 for the exam. Going to his lectures is pointless as he posts his online recordings with all you need to know. Midterm/exam questions are copied/pasted, so if you can find past examinations, you'll be ok. The only thing interesting about this course is the ball competition.
Don't bother going to his boring classes. Memorize the slides and practice calculation problems for the exams. Both exams were curved and are tricky if you don't study. Make sure someone in your project group can CAD well and you should pass. Do not fall behind as you cannot learn all the content days before the exams, it takes weeks.
Bascially MEC325 v2, but the prof isnt "exciting". I only went to the physical class once, so I cannot speak on his character, but at least he posts poor quality video lectures where hes just reading from slides. The project was mid, as long as someone in your group can CAD. Best course of action is to memorize the slides via his videos.
The course was online, he did not teach anything. We just had to watch poor quality video of 2 years ago, he did not answer the emails. The classes was extremely boring. After 3 months we did not receive our marks. The midterm and final exams were difficult. He had to curve the midterm marks because every body were messed up.
I have emailed this professor and class TA's many times and have gotten no response. The 20% project was given with 0 instructions and an outline with many errors. The professor doesn't care about this class, which is seen by his lack of answering emails and his TA's which do the same. The midterm and exam is just 135q with grammatical errors.
An awful prof. He's one of those profs who doesn't really want to teach, he just wants to do the bare minimum and go do his research. The class is horribly organized and unfairly graded. There is too much to read and the project is not really explained properly. The class format needs to be changed for students to actually learn something.
This course is heavy on keywords, regurgitation and memorization of text. Be prepared to listen and read over 500+ slides for each exam. Lectures will bore you to death. Group project depends on if you have good/bad teammates. Exams are hard as he can ask you ANYTHING stupidly specific from the lectures/textbook. Course is basically mini mec325.
Terrible, rude, hard marking teacher. Who doesn't care about students or reply to students emails for inquiries.
he does not treat students with respect, and even asks for them to invest in his research. the group project was presented with literally no instructions or guidance and the exams were insanely unfair with necessary amounts of preparation and studying needed to get a 30
Venkat is a nice guy and he cares that students learn the concepts. So if you want to learn the nanotechnology, make sure to attend his lectures. Project is tough and you have to spend lots of time and energy on it. Midterm is also super hard but the final is fair. Overall you can get a good grade if you attend his lectures and study his slides.
