Melanie Knight

Prof Knight is a kind, understanding, and engaging professor. Lectures are very discussion heavy, so they can go on for awhile if the class is talkative. The content was interesting and the readings were applicable to my life. Assignments and tests run this course were quite easy after going to class.

Melanie is a very refreshing professor amidst the many I've had at TMU. She is kind and makes material incredibly clear, her assignments are very interesting as well and are very entertaining to conduct.

Prof Melanie Knight is the sunshine and rainbows amidst the sad and lifeless professors in TMU, her lectures are very interactive but in a good and whimsy way, she shows genuine care and understanding to her students. There's heavy reading but genuine interesting stuff in my opinion. I hope her pillows are always nice and cold on both sides.

I love Dr.Knight. Participation matters for this class and is a big portion of the grade. A LOT of reading. lectures were super insightful and great discussions happen. Overall, she's an understanding and kind professor!

She was honestly the best prof! Lovely woman who always made time for me after class and continued to help me out of the course. Would 100% take her class again and it was an easy A! Just be ready to take a lot of notes!

Prof. Knight lectures are really engaging and she has a good sense of humour. Her exams weren't super difficult, but the wording of a lot of the questions were kinda unclear. She also takes awhile getting marks back. But overall shes a good prof.

She's nice, but honestly really intimidating. Lectures are kind of hard to wrap your head around. Her expectations for the essay are incredibly high.

I don't really like this class at all. I like sociology but micro sociology, although interesting, is also kind of annoying. Dr. Knight has unrealistic expectations for the final essay. For example, it's next to impossible to find 8 or more scholarly sources on micro sociological topics without being to macro. It made me stressed.

It's really upsetting to see how high her rating is. I'm hoping it's based on how easy she is and not the quality of the content she provides. She is obsessed with identity politics, very marxist, sees everything through a racial lens, and takes social constructivism to the greatest extremes. Affirmative Action, misinformation, ignorant, cringe.
