Plasse Taylor's class is a huge shift from the second year design classes. He reminds you that you are truly in an interior design school, not an architecture school. Though very strict, he fixes up the bad habids that weve developed and want to open your head to social issues in design. Great philosophy, Teacher, but a hard adjustment.
Very specific style. Either you're into it or you'll be frustrated.
A nice guy but doesn't listen to students and their ideas, isn't very flexible, and really pushes his approach on everyone. He assumes it's one fit for all for projects. I wish he would be a little bit less ridged with his methods.
I didn't have the greatest experience in his class. He was unclear, doesn't take the time or energy to understand where the student is coming from, very stubborn on his view and wouldn't engage in student's work. I was left feeling demotivated and disrespected mostly. He was fair with marking.
I took CDID150 a few years back with MPT. The majority of critics below are correct. Michael is a very nice, kind, funny person, but has his moody days; he is very passionate & knowledgeable about ID, but he lacks in great teaching & communication skills, & he does often contradict himself. But youll learn a lot.
Nice man but his critiques are unclear, follow whatever he wants to get a decent grade. Learned a lot from him; just don't expect to get a high mark.
Although Michael had a reputation of being a harsh critic, after entering his class, everyone really liked him by surprise. He is truly a very kind person and wonderfully passionate about teaching. And what is great is that he does very amazing work himself (rare in profs in this program), which is inspiring and makes you trust his advice.
Just do it the way he wants. 80's style bad renderings. It's the only way you'll get the grades. It's a mandatory class or I'd have switched out. And go to class or he'll reduce your grade just because.
Great prof. Extremely knowledgeable (one of the most knowledgeable in the school), very helpful! My section may have had to work the hardest, but we learned the most! He's not there to hurt anyone's feelings, he really wants to help people learn.
