Bill is a really nice guy with a lot of experience. I took advanced feature writing with him and he gave me great feedback on my work, you can tell that he really cares about his students. That said, I didn't really learn all that much and I wish he had put in more effort into planning classes.
I do not like how Bill interacts with students. He tends to call on the male students more when the class doesn't respond to a classroom prompt. He is also more willing to problem solve with the male students in the class. i.e. Cutting off 3/about 7 of the female students while pitching story ideas, yet helping only 3 male students develop theirs.
Bill is AWESOME, he teaches you things you will use in the real world and he's super chill. i like feeling like i'm talking to a human being, and not just a holier-than-thou prof - i feel like that with bill. if you have him for feature you are lucky
Bill actually kept me in journalism. Without him, I would have dropped out. He wasn't intimidating, just a chill guy, and he actually teaches you useful things, the first half of the journalism degree at Ryerson is useless.
Second time having this guy. Great prof, one of my favourites at RyeHigh -- I definitely learned a ton. He's always available for help, and he puts a lot of of time and effort into his students and their work. Also a fine painter, the lab never looked better.
hes very nice very clear and undestands you a lot!!!!
I learned so much from this guy. He's always available after class for help, and he puts more effort into his classes and his students than the call of duty. Looking forward to working with him again.
Bill is super fantastic!
