Gillian Turnbull

I loved Gillian so much! She is such an engaging professor and accommodates you. She wants you to do well. Probably the best prof I have had in my 4 years. Definitely take her class if you get the chance.

Gillian was one of the best profs I had at TMU. Her lectures prepare you very well for quizzes and she keeps the content very engaging. I learned a lot in her course, highly recommend!!!

includes way too many "preliminary" rules for essay writing -- refuses to follow a distinctive formatting (will choose chicago but change almost every rule) and will deduct 10% if you miss a space or punctuation ONCE. setting her students up to fail. the way she imposes such strict rules on things that have 0 pertinence to her course is ridiculous

Content is easy but Gillian wants to make students have a harder time by over complicating essays and music quizzes. The essays are overly complicated and marks are taken off for silly things like "overly complicated words" Losing over 5% for every little thing means your setting students up for failure. Pretty pathetic.

Amazing prof with fun and engaging lectures, genuinely learned a lot from her and she made me want to go to classes. Highly recommend if you get a chance to take her class

Great prof overall! Listening quizzes are pretty intense but her bonus quizzes are very helpful to improve your grade. The final essay was really enjoyable. Would recommend Professor: Turnbull

She is very nice and welcoming for questions at business hours, willing to take other lessons from her.
