There are not enough nice things to say about Dr. Green. She cares for her students more than any professor I've EVER had. She is the most thoughtful, considerate and approachable professor in university. Her grading is fair- she just wants to see us making an effort. I wish all professors were like her. I have never felt more valued by a prof.
It's not possible to summarize how incredible Ruth is in 350 characters. She is a true treasure, with an unparalleled passion for teaching, for students actually learning and growing. Knowing her and learning from her is a blessing. She's a role model and the most fiercely loving person I've ever met. I hope you have the chance to learn w her too
Ruth was the best prof I've ever had. She challenges you in the best way possible and creates an amazing learning environment. I found her lectures funny, compelling and unbelievably inspiring. I honestly cannot understand someone not enjoying this beautiful soul. I wish I could spend more time learning from her. One semester was not enough!!
Don't miss out on opportunities to take a class with Ruth. She's phenomenal, is very respectful and ensures different learning styles are acknowledged... like, maybe you want to colour while you listen/discuss readings? Great! She brings colouring books. Incorporation of Indigenous teachings and end of course celebrations were particularly great.
Probably my favourite professor so far. She will make you question identity and privilege as a social worker and is happy to answer any questions related to this. She always answers her emails and always ensures everyone is accommodated and comfortable. She is well networked and recognized within the university, offering information and contacts.
Ruth is an amazing prof! She is caring, funny and knowledgeable. She's an easy mark and expect intro, conclusion and apa to achieve an A+. Definitely recommended!
Worse professor in the school of social work. That's all I am going to say...
Always looking forward to her class! If you ask her for an explanation she is always more than willing to meet with you to make sure you understand. She is a tough marker, but puts a lot of effort in her feedback. This is a university course, it is supposed to be challenging. I am liking her class and find her lectures to always be very engaging.
I did not like her as a prof. Initially she seemed cool, understanding & open minded but as the course progressed I began to feel otherwise. I'm a 80+ student and always work hard, but she was just never satisfied. She was a tough grader, wasn't open to different povs, scattered lectures and useless assignment guidelines. Hated this class.
loves her students and is very invested in them. I have a learning disability and she was very supportive. Great at communication via email. Assignments are decent. Lots of self-reflection work. no slides for lectures, take notes. lectures can be VERY scattered but interesting as she incorporates aboriginal teachings in all classes, lots of reading
