Super nice! Not very engaging online, tho. :/
Had her for First Draft (RTA 808). Laurie is an amazing prof. She's understanding and gives great advice and feedback. Highly recommend
Her lectures are interesting. She did really well for it being online and all. She teaches well AND gives you recordings and slides after the lesson! The two tests we had were open book and multiple choice.
She really tried her best to make a virtual class very engaging.
I loved this class so much. The online lectures were very engaging despite being on Zoom. It always felt like she cared about her students by checking in on us, asking about our experience in the program, and even giving tips for future years. She was very passionate about the material, and I learned a bunch about design!
Laurie had great lectures, despite them being online, she still made them informational and educational. Her lectures taught a lot, and she would always answer questions. I enjoyed the lectures, they were fun to listen to, and she is very supportive of her students.
Laurie's RTA103 is taught virtually, which makes engagement much harder. To her credit, she does try to keep the lectures interesting, but much of the course material is at an entry-level high school degree of difficulty. Her tests are extremely easy. Really nice person who likes to talk about her books, just a basic class taught over Zoom.
Laurie Petrou gave an incredible escape room course! the course itself is entertaining, Laurie brought in respected guest speakers in the area of study, and the culmination of the class was very fun to watch come to life with her help. She helped each group come up with their escape room idea, and assisted us with a twist we added to ours!
She's super nice and sweet. The lectures are alright and teach you what you need to know.
Laurie was a great professor for the lecture portion of RTA103. Always made the guidelines and expectations clear, helped everyone out when it came to studying for exams, and tried to make the class as engaging as possible. If you had to miss a class, all lectures were recorded on Zoom and you could easily access them later to catch up.
