Save yourself and drop. The stress isn't worth it
This professor gives poor advice and doesn't give out grades fast enough when it comes to participation. Her content is incredibly dry. Cold, avoid at all costs.
Very rude, I asked her a question during an exam and she basically yelled at me. Throughout the course she has been extremely difficult and constantly frustrated for no reason. She doesn't respect her students. Avoid her!!!
Dr. Koerner's lectures are very engaging and help you better your understanding on course content. She does state multiple times that readings are mandatory, and you will be tested on both lecture and textbook content. As long as you attend her lectures and do the readings you will do great in her class!
Professor Koerner often begins w/ a class discussion/exercise before getting into the material. She promotes critical thinking by asking questions. No rubric for the assignment. Wasn't very responsive in emails, just quick to the point, and seemed aloof in her email etiquette. In-person, she seems fine but people might interpret her as harsh.
Very impersonal and boring class. Papers are unnecessarily difficult without clear outlines or expectations. She is a hard grader, and her feedback is extremely critical. The discussion posts each week require so much research for such low-stakes tasks. Tests Q's are all from the textbook- don't bother studying the modules at all.
She is extremely rude and passive aggressive, if you have any clarifications or questions she will just straight up tell you to check the course outline and does not provide any more information. Her lecture is also content heavy and will explain one part of the powerpoint for 40 minutes straight.
If you're taking this for an easy A, don't. The content is heavy in readings and assignments are tough, but it's worth it. Dr. Koerner was kind and genuine in our email conversations. Her feedback on assignments can be seen as negative, but it's also incredibly constructive. I feel like I learned more from this course than any other PSY course.
