tough marker, poor slides, not the best prof. his midterm is so difficult his TAs can't solve.
TONS of homework. Midterms and finals cant often be finished in time. You really have to practice example problems to get to his level of difficulty. Better to source textbooks that have questions that are that hard to practice from. Redoing assignments works just as well. Does example problems to explain content fully in class
Had Anwar for CVL 320/CVL 420. Terrible man. One of the worst professors in the Civil Eng. Unfair marker, extremely hard, rude comments in class, and bases marks on connection with students which is unjust. The professor has major high ego at his big age. He continuously fails students even if they do well on exams. Should be fired but tenured.
I can't lie Anwar is overhated. Don't get me wrong he's not the best prof in the world but the other reviews made me very scared of him when he's actually not to bad if you actually do your work. Lock in during tutorials, do ur homework and practice old exams and you should be fine
Professor Anwar is demanding but engaging. The exams are challenging, but attending class and using resources like the textbook and unstuck study can really help prepare. If you put in the work, you'll learn a lot from this course.
Dr Anwar is hands down the worst civil engineering Professor at TMU. He doesn't care about students and is very full of himself. He marks extremely hard and makes the class extremely hard to pass. He randomly starts bragging about himself in the middle of the lectures. He has no sympathy or respect for students.
Dr. Hossain is one of the few passionate professors at Ryerson. He's excellent at explaining concepts and does good examples in class. Be prepared for the midterm and final, it isn't uncharacteristic that half the class will botch the midterm.
I passed this course due to his motivation. He respects students and give great advice, available for consultation. He sets mid-term and final exams as per lecture notes and fair. Inspirational, give right advice, suggestion, makes me think like a professional. Learned a lot and wish to do better in the next semester with this great experience.
