prof spaniol is really nice and friendly, and there is a lot of flexibility with due dates. as long as you ask before the due date she's likely to give one, which is really helpful, especially around end-of-the-semester burn out. I'd go out of my way to take another class with her if i wasn't graduating lol
One of the best professors I've had! She made the seminar awesome. So kind & engaging and smart. Wish she taught more classes so I could learn more from her!
This seminar was AWESOME! Julia is so kind and engaging - it was refreshing being around a prof who genuinely cared about what you had to say! Very fair marker and assignment are spread out and multiple, so you have lots of opportunities to do well. This is one of my last psych courses and I couldn't have been happier taking it with Julia!
An excellent teacher who actually cares about her students. Definitely would take a course with her again if I could (already had her as a prof twice now).
The Cognition Seminar was great! Julia grades very fairly, is easy to talk to, and engages critically with the material when leading a lecture. She wants students to do well and really grapple with the concepts. She is sweet, quirky, gorgeous & incredibly intelligent. An absolute gem at Ryerson. Definitely take a class with her :)
I loved being in Julias class. She is so kind, lectures and discussions are very interesting, and her assignments are straight forward. She is very engaging and wants her students to do well. I would definitely take another one of her classes!
An excellent professor. Some might say that she's a bit on the dry side but psych profs are not known for their humor. The 2 lab reports for this class were easy as long as you presented interesting research in a coherent manner.
She's very intelligent about what she teaches and expects you to be the same. Her Cognitive Psychology course was kind of rough but she wasn't a bad teacher, she just didn't seem to explain things in an easier way. I just ended up reading the textbook, and once you do, what she says makes sense - you just need to work to get it.
Really smart prof and great communication and presentation presence. She's pretty hot too.
Dr. Spaniol makes the lectures interesting for a really boring field of psych. The midterm was tough and most of the questions required application of the concepts - these are not 'memorize and you'll do fine' tests. The labs were interesting in class and relatively straight forward, but were marked really tough. Be thorough when writing them.
