Great teacher, some might find him boring because of his tone, but then i was able to find interest. There are only 2 essay and a final exam which you can prepare before hand. You'll need the course reader. You do not need the textbook, just make sure you attend this classes and do notes, and you're all good.

Friendly but boring lecturer. Did not use book, but you'll need the course reader and take good notes in class. Does not post notes on BB. Ask for clarifications and specifically what he expects to be on the essay. Breakdown: 2 essays, a final - he gives the questions ahead of time so it's easy to prep.

I found him to be a very reasonable prof. Show interst in his class, ask questions about the assignments ie. the essay you're about to write about. I didnt end up using txtbooks, photocopied the book off friends and googled the articles, better my friend better than paying for the book

I took his class in Spring. He is extremely friendly. He is very reasonable marker. He understands how our class misses one class. I like his feedback. It is very clear... you have to prepare to do a lot of writing, but you dont need to buy the textbook to save some money. I learn alot about the chinese history even though i am chinese myself.

Great Professor. As long as you come to class and make notes, you will achieve a good mark. I found out incredible/shocking facts about Chinese government and its leaders. If you are interested in finding out true history behind the Communist Government, this is the right course.

Great guy, good story teller. A bit grandfather like, but very current. Not a very hard marker. Dont have to be a history buff to do well. Tells u what u need to know for the exam. No midterm. Dont buy the text, just go to every class and write down exactly what he says.

An excellent guy. Always well prepared and very responsive to questions. Inapires you to have new way of thinking in history.
