Very very VERY tough grader. Getting even 80+ is impossible in any of her assignments or respondus tests. Study 10+ hours and you will still likely do very poorly. Take this during the fall/winter when the averages are 80+. Her averages are well into the 60s and low 70s and for an introductory course thats just not right.
I fully regret taking this class and should have listened to the online reviews. Very engaging and bubbly personality, but marks HARD and has VERY specific wording she looks for. Demonic comments on tests and assignments. Way too harsh for a lower lib. Needs to retire
She's a tough grader, way too high expectations and perfectionism. My majors courses are way easier than her class. STAY AWAY.
She was not as bad as people made her out to be but the lectures were long and heavy. Assignments were difficult to understand and she is a tough grader.
Stay away, read the reviews here. This is not an intro course, having prior psych knowledge for tests and the final paper may help you. Ambiguous questions on all the tests and a critical marker. Final paper was the same. Lectures slides are heavy and reading material is insane. I have taken many intros and this was the worst. Good luck.
Shes great, one of my fav profs ive ever had. All the due dates and guidelines are very clear and NOT outdated, which is something i can appreciate. Sure shes challenging, but its supposed to be. Appreciate how much she cares and her vast knowledge of psych and how she sets you up to learn it.
Actually run. She won't teach you a single thing except for how to loose your will to live. Teaches nothing, expects you to be at PHD level writing annd knowledge and give less than zero direction. If you have the chance to take literally any other teacher EVER. DO IT.
I definitely recommend her. The course materials are clear, well-organized, and not text-heavy. You don't need the textbook if you read her handouts. The workload is light—two exams, short online quizzes, and one assignment. She's also responsive and active on D2L.
Honestly, I would avoid at all costs... Don't know who hurt this lady, but she is projecting all her anger onto us...
midterm and final are easy if u study- no surprise questions. marking of the assignment's a little picky, but thats up to the TA's. u cant rlly get away with missing lectures cause the posted slides are not exact same as in-class slides. imo found her lectures kinda boring cause she talks slow, but shes very kind and helpful. overall, average prof.
