He is a decent prof. He gives you what you deserve in terms of grades. If he sees that you work hard for it, he will award you for it. Even if doing readings are enough, don't skip class, as that shows that you put in the effort and he will appreciate that.
Truly the worst professor I have ever had. He actually yelled at my group and I before our exam. He refused to answer emails, believing our questions were not worthy of his time. Condescending, rude, inconsiderate, stubborn, hot headed. Truly awful.
Would not answer emails. Strict. Unclear with regards to assignments and expectations. Would never take a class with him again.
The good thing about this course is that there is no final exam and also the final interview was easy. Midterms are based on the book, not the slides or lecture. The group project is the worst part of this course, its long and you are required to build financial metrics and other topics that where not covered in this course. Class average is a C-.
Very Boring, just study the testbanks because that is 100% of all his tests.
Didn't even go to class and just read the textbook and did well. His lectures are the worst! Doesn't know how to present his lectures very well, Very Boring, and will bore you to sleep. Adds a useless 15 page report worth 10% when other classes did metrics for marks instead.
Worst prof ever has no idea what he is doing and no knowledge of what he is teaching does not seem suitable to teach this course what so ever
Harvey is a very nice guy and knows his stuff. However I found his lectures very dry. The group project/final interview also didn't really have a value add. The content of the course is interesting but I didn't find Harvey to be a great teacher even though he clearly knew his content.
I loved this class! By far the most 'real world' and usefull class I have ever been in. Harvey is a fair but tough teacher. He explains very clearly he does not allow phones or computers to be out, so it is simple - don't bring your phone or laptop out. His tests were harder than I expeted, but the class is amaizng!
He is one of the best TRSM profs, and if you put in the effort, this is one of the best courses that is most applicable at Ryerson, you will work for your mark, and you won't be allowed to use your cell phone in class. That's life! Take his class!
