Irene Gammel

Dr. Gammel has been one of the most engaging professors I've had at TMU. She genuinely cares about her students and brings so much positive energy to her lectures. I've taken a couple of her classes, and I've enjoyed all of them. I definitely recommend signing up for any of her classes if you get the chance!

ENG 417 had engaging lectures and interesting readings. There are weekly discussion posts, a midterm, and a final assignment. Dr. Gammel is incredibly organized, she really cares about her students and promotes a positive learning environment. I hope to take another class with her!

Dr. Gammel might be the sweetest professor I've ever had. She will go out of her way to help you succeed and make the class enjoyable. The only thing is sometimes her expectations are a little unclear, so ask questions. Otherwise she was wonderful!

Dr.Gammel is an amazing professor. She ensures students are engaged with the lecture material, involves them in voicing their opinions, and brings great discussions to the class. She is very kind and caring and has a great sense of fashion. She brings such high and positive energy to class. Please take her!!

This course was such an insightful experience, bridging the gap between the nuances of satirical humor with classical and contemporary works of literature. I sincerely believe that I would not have reached such a depth in understanding of this topic without Prof. Gammel's kind support and feedback!

I was in two of Dr. Gammel's classes, ENG 417 with the focus on the #MeToo movement for the semester (W2022), and her ENG 230. She is an amazing professor and cares a lot about her student's academic and personal successes. Being in her class was an amazing experience filled with growth and development! I 100% recommend her courses! :)

Highly recommend ACS910 for ACS students who'd like to apply their education and skills in a professional setting! Dr. Gammel is super nice and understanding (she even complimented me after negotiating an extension for the class lol). She provided many resources and insight for career building and having Jason Wang sit in was also very helpful.

This course was amazing!! I would definitely recommend taking this course to gain some experience in an organization. Dr. Gammel has genuine concern for her students and placing them in an organization they desire. I received an offer to work for my organization after the fellowship ended. Dr. Gammel was a wonderful support in making this happen.

I enjoyed taking ACS910 because of two reasons: 1) Dr. Gammel is very nice, understanding and enthusiastic, and 2) this course gave me an opportunity to gain experience within my professional field. I would most likely recommend this course to those who are looking for an internship, or anyone who wants to be prepared for the "real world".
