Lectures are long, monotonous and confusing. She is often tangential and has a difficult time returning to subject. Is not helpful nor welcoming. She does rely heavily on textbook content, which can be beneficial; however, for students who learn through lectures and discussion, this Prof should be avoided.
As a psych teacher, it's really not a good thing to be racist, sexist, classist, and ableist, but Dana manages to hit all of those points every class. I have found myself more than once being like, "Can she say that?!"
She can come off as rude in person and in emails. Tries to have the class participates but gets awkward. Dry material and long lectures. Confusing and disorganized notes. Oh, and she won't go easy on you. You need the notes and textbook to pass and even that's not enough.
Probably the most boring lecture I've had this year. She doesn't post any of her lectures and uses this monotonous tone throughout her lectures. She expects you to answer short answers in the quiz straight from the book (meaning you actually have to memorise or you'll get it wrong). If you get the chance avoid taking this class with her.
Lectures are very unclear, relied heavily on the textbook because the lectures were confusing.
Same as Child Psych. Lecture notes are barely structured and confusing and she gets annoyed and angry when anyone points it out. Enthusiastic about material, but uses confusing examples and gets flustered easily. Tests are fair, but long answer section is hard. Essay is easy if you read the book.
I have never been so bored in my life. She is super awkward and is simply just not a fun teacher at all. The textbook does a better job at explaining. Just read that and you will be fine.
pretty great teacher, although she could be boring she tells you exactly what is on the exam! she gives an opportunity for extra credit!
