He is so hard to understand and he talks very quietly. He tends to use his own methods which is so complex. But he did bell curve the midterm and final by 5% but once again because alot of people failed so he did that.
The textbook is useless, it teaches you the basics. Even google couldn't help you learn to do the financial models using VBA. Don't take this if you don't have to.
He knows his stuff, but the lecture is too fast paced. You get an information overload after approx 30 minutes if you try to keep up w the prof. The online quizzes are too hard. Most of the students had to collaborate to arrive at the correct answers. I think the final is going to be brutally hard. Gonna get back with the final verdict later.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ! He's so boring!!!! Never take a morning class with him
FIN300 is the most challenging course I have come across in my first 2 years at Ryerson ITM/BTM. You can't blame the prof for poor marks here; he has excellent notes and examples which prove very helpful during tests. Don't skip or you'll miss important notes; it a fast course! MINIMUM of 3hrs/week practice is must for 80%+.
Good finance prof. His class average was 60% for midterm, while everyone else's was 40%. Uses slides and makes concepts somewhat understandable (finance is still hard). In the end, I KNOW he bumped our final marks! Nice guy though. Anderson's students come to Inglis' class instead! Midterm was exactly like the practice one he gave us! TAKE HIM!
Great prof... one of the best for FIN 300... great class also.. If u can get a chance take him.. didnt put much effort in his class and got A+, this to say that FIN 300 class is easy.
He is tough but the best. You have to work hard. To pass the course you must learn how to use the calculator - but he doesnt tell you all the tricks. This course made me sweat, but in the end.... it was worth it. I would take him again.
He is a good prof. Just slow him down if he starts to explain things way too fast and study from his slideshows. Also, DO go in to student centre, ask for help. It's there for a reason, guys! Midterm = pretty easy, final, however, is tough. Quite tough, too. So don't relax after you've gotten your A on the midterm.
