She was clear when talking, but she was always going off on tangents and was always talking about feminism and women and such. That class should be called feminist writing because that's all she assigns and talks about. Very boring, but you should have a friend in class to take notes on certain things in class, but otherwise you don't have to go.
Sennence. That's a word you future students will hear a lot. Most boring, frustrating, annoying three hours a week of my life. She speaks sort of clearly but doesn't explain things well - she thinks that since she understands we all should. Total BS, too bad it was a mandatory course..
She was very helpful and the class content was very interesting. She helped me so much when it came to the essay and she isn't afraid to give you the marks you deserve. Scored a B+ in the course. If you do what she asks, you shouldn't have a problem.
Do not expect any compassion or sympathy here. She follows curriculum down to the last letter. A hard marker, likes to go off on long, boring tangents and is quite possibly the worst lecturer ever.
She is passionate about what she does but it's her opinion or your wrong which in an opinion driven course can be the most aggravating thing on the planet. Often pronounces things completely wrong...
Dr. Martin is very helpful. She is always available and willing to assist students. However, this class is not easy; you have to work hard (really hard) to do well. The reading is heavy with 3 novels, 2 short stories and other materials. Moreover, science fiction could be very abstract and hard to understand. So get ready.
SHE LIVES IN THE WORLD OF SCIENCE FICTION - THE LECTURES ARE SO BORING AND SO ABSTRACT !!!!!
Cold, Insensitive to Student Needs. Excessively academic to the point of fault. Her Science Fiction Literature ( a liberal) has more readings and work than most requirements and also does not deal with any topics in science fiction
She's not always clear in her lectures and often times cannot answer questions posed by the class, but she's always willing to at least try to help you out, if you need it. Seems fairly passionate about her job.
