If belong to a minority group, expect racial discrimination. I know, I worked for him at Dylex!
Terrible professor. Always yelling and calling on you in class.
Nothing special. Pretty average teacher, but he does pick on students during class. Make sure you are paying attention and taking notes on the slides as they will come up in the final. You can still do well if you don't go to class but follow along on the slides. He does a poll during class for participation marks. Lots of mini assignments
Projects are very confusing and don't explain the content that is wanted out of assignments very well. Also had an assignment that required you to add a credit card into Google ads which he gave broad guidelines to follow. If a mistake it could cost you a lot of money which he doesn't explain.
He randomly picks students to answer questions during the lecture but I liked his passion for teaching (CARES ABOUT THEIR STUDENTS). It was stressful but you will get used to it. Other than that projects and exams are "OKAY."
I have to say, I was worried taking this course when I read the reviews, but after all, it was one of the best courses ice ever had. He is very clear and cares about students, of course, if you are not working at all in the course he seems to be not helpful, but he is if you listen and practice. Not a tough grader and very hilarious in lectures.
I gotta say it is a great course! The projects were extremely helpful, I manage to secure a job during the pandemic at an adtech! Amazing prof, and what he teaches are very much adaptable to the real world!
Norman is really great. don't look at the terrible reviews, he's really clear with his grading, there is a good amount of work to do for the course but there's nothing horribly long and he generally is very lenient. I got an okay mark in his class by just submitting all of the small pre-lecture and breakout assignments!
Norman is an awesome prof! His lectures are engaging and he marks stuff fairly. As long as you participate in the lectures, pay attention and do all the weekly assignments, you will do great!
Norman is the worst professor in the entire retail department at ryerson. He's rude, inconsiderate and is extremely un-accommodative. Not only does he pick on students in class, if someone passes or doesn't answer he will mark them as absent and not give them a grade for their quiz (even if they answered through the polls). DO NOT TAKE HIM.
