Robert Ott

Robert is an incredible professor, especially for those interested in the business industry of fashion as opposed to the more design focused courses. His lectures were enthralling (minus those regarding AI). Minimal long assignments. Participate in the pop quizzes (Fashion or Folly) each class for a full participation grade as well as bonus.

Professor Ott had very engaging lectures and I always tried to attend the optional chats for bonus content. His projects were challenging but thoughtful and he clearly cares for the subject. A great prof for my first year

great prof! projects were interesting for sure, and there was like 20% in participation and quiz grades to boost your mark. would def take again!

Great prof, enjoyed the class. Gave good advice throughout the semester. We had the chance to speak with Jeanne Beker about Alexander McQueen & changes within the fashion industry which was really interesting. Make sure to attend the "optional" chat after lectures, almost always found it useful/essential. Only used the textbook in the beginning.

Ott was my favourite prof of the entire semester. His voice is so soothing to listen to in lectures and he is very organized with lesson plans and assignments. He gave us little mental health activities during lectures which were very refreshing. He is so understanding of his students mental health and I really appreciated that.

Prof. Ott was okay for my first year. There were a few enjoyable things about his lectures, I liked how there was always an engaging element. The papers given for this class are very arduous to complete, I would suggest getting started on them and finishing them a few days before the due date as assignments tend to pile up.

Hes a very good professor who is very passionate and informed on the material. Lectures are well organized and coherent. U didnt have to show up to class but we had to request to receive the recording which was annoying cause he might not respond to some ppl. The readings, folly or fashion, weekly quizzes and assignments r relevant to the course

Robert was such an amazing prof to have especially as a first year student. He made online learning fun and engaging. It was very apparent he wanted to be there and that he cared for his students success. I would love to take a course taught by him again, he was the best.

Absolutely enjoyed taking Roberts class. He was super friendly and cheerful and made learning in this Covid climate a lot better.

I loved Professor Ott's class. He's such a genuinely nice person, the ideal prof in my opinion. He's so willing to adapt and forgive because of this weird time we're in with online schooling and COVID. Definitely a lot of work in his class but I found it enjoyable work! The assignments are interesting and you can cater them to your personal tastes!
