Learned a lot from his lectures. Excellent!
'm a 4.0 student and have took many heavy STEM courses, but never one this bad.graded by 3 tests that aren't fair to students at all, tests consist of nothing but random gibberish that he mumbles once in class, nothing based on slides. ur not tested on chemistry material, its random questions that could be from anywhere, no way to prepare.
Clear lectures and solving lots of problems. Fair test.
Graded by few materials and is very test heavy. Found many lectures by the professor not reflective enough of the material for exams.
Dr. Mehrvar is not the worst prof in the world but neither is he the best prof. Two easy midterms and an insanely difficult final exam. You must come to class because he gives hints of what would be tested and without those hints you wouldn't even bat an eye at those concepts on the slides.
Amazing professor. You must follow the experimental procedure and lab reports. Lots of feedback.
I would say to run for your life but you can't avoid him if you are in chemical engineering. Worst professor ever.
Insane for people to think this guy explains well or is a good teacher. Doesn't show compassion or empathy for his students. Literally self studying from a textbook is 10x more helpful than listening to his poorly structured lectures. Also hilarious to read him rating himself.
If you're naturally good at math, notetake at every lecture religiously, and do all the practice questions in the textbook, you will probably do very well in the course. If you're only the last two things, you will be fine, but maybe not 4.33. He has an interesting personality for sure, but if you actually need his help,I wish you goodluck LOL
Dr. Mehrvar does an excellent job at keeping students engaged each and every lecture. He provides clear examples and often relates course content to real life experiences. The literature review project involves a lot of research within a relatively short timeline so be sure to manage time well. Overall he's a great professor in my books!
