Overall she's pretty decent and quite helpful and tells you exactly what's on the midterm, final, and what she wants on the essay. However she is quite a tough marker, this course was my lowest grade out of all my liberals, but I did find the course material quite interesting. If you are looking for an easy liberal, I would suggest look elsewhere.

Participation Matters, go to class and you're guaranteed at least a B+. Not an easy marker, she gives you hints on what's on the exams, and exactly what she expects on your essay. If you enjoy history, then'll you love this class, and achieving an A is not hard. If you don't like history, then obviously don't take as it's not a 'bird' course.

Made me actually like history

Said stuff would be on tests that wasn't, unclear about midterm, helpful with paper, overall nice person. I personally dislike when you both have to sign in to a class, and there's content shared in class that's not in the notes, I prefer one or the other especially during a summer course.

What really bothered me was the way she writes tests-On both the midterm and the final exam she did this thing where there were two almost identical questions on something she didn't cover extensively in class and left out a major section of study that she said IN CLASS would be on the exam. Not cool. Going to class is like listening to a audiobook

Just to let you know the class is composed of a participation marks (10 percent), midterm (20 percent), final (35 percent) and a paper (35 percent). Vera's lectures are story like and very memorable which will help with the midterm and final. Vera is very helpful, clear, and upfront about her expectations. I enjoyed every minute of class.

There's a midterm, final, one paper, and participation marks. She tells you exactly what to do for the paper and what to focus on for the test but she's not an easy marker. Her lectures and notes are very detailed and clear but there's a lot of material to go through. Pay attention in class and memorize her notes and you'll do fine.

Great course. Learned a lot for an elective.

Amazing lectures. Class was far more interesting than I thought it would be. Prof also pretty helpful and willing to look over papers ahead of time. Not the hardest class I've had but not the easiest either.

Interesting course but bad delivery. Definitely not a very approachable prof. I'd avoid if I were you.
