Mike Burke

Stats was required for my program and not being strong with math I dreaded it. Professor Burke was so friendly and meticulously organized it made the math elements of stats digestible. His methods and slides were so fluid and broke down the material so well, learning was a comfortable experience - so much so, my final grade was a 92%!

This class was hard if you weren't majoring in politics or had any interest. His expectations were low but his ta marked really hard.wouldn't suggest his class

best prof i've ever had ! is funny and understanding. DONT buy the textbook, he puts everything on his slides. ive had him twice now, for pog 110 and pog 230, lower than a c+ is unlikely. he rambles in lectures a bit but overall he's awesome! always ask him questions during exams and midterms, sometimes he gives answers or great hints

Such a boring class no matter how good of a good night sleep you had. I didn't find the course to be that easy the way students who are actually in the politics program did. Very nice prof, but I dislike his teaching style-reading off slides and repeating what they mean. Also, wish it was more participatory.

He is a great prof. Really is passionate about politics and is willing to help you outside of class. The course is a bit tricky in the sense that you are expected to read the textbook plus his PDF notes. However, if you pay attention and study hard YOU WILL DO WELL. He is an intelligent person who can make you laugh in class which is a bonus

1 essay 2 exams. tutorials are 10%. lectures are straightforward, his voice is low it's hard to hear him sometimes. if you don't go to lecture or tutorial make sure you read the text AND his notes because you won't get all the info. he's a nice guy, but lectures are boring, but they're necessary because not all the info is in the text.
