I really enjoyed the class. He knows his material well, and always made a Monday morning class enjoyable. I enjoyed all the books we read this term. He is a bit of a hard marker, though. Also, small detail, but I found it hard to read his handwriting when he returned assignments. Besides that, great prof. If you have the chance then take his class.
Super insightful and loaded with comedy. Unfortunately there are a lot of assigned readings but his attempts to keep students interested are usually successful. Would for sure take any other class he taught. Big cell phone hater however
He's a good lecturer, but I felt like there were too many extraneous readings that he assigned simply for the sake of assigning them. Overall, the course was insightful at times but ultimately very dull.
Boyagoda is so funny! I did not enjoy ENG108, and I was anxious about how ENG208 would turn out... but Boyagoda is a great professor. His lectures are interesting and he's actually really funny. He's very easygoing as well and it seems like he tries to make this class enjoyable. You're the best Professor Boyagoda!
Prof. Boyagoda is very articulate and funny. Being a young professor, at times, he's a bit of a hotshot (thinks he knows everything...then again, most of the time he's right).
Wonderful prof! He's got the wittiness that will keep your attention and his random stories or linkages to outside resources are always hilarious that you can't help but laugh a little. Lots of reading required but that's a typical high-level english class.
overly formal. the whole 'calling all students by their last name' thing is a little ridiculous. and insisting that he's called Professor Boyagoda all the time. seriously, lighten up Boyagoda. with that said, he does have a decent sense of humor and he is a competent lecturer.
Nice guy, not super helpful unless you are in his comfort zone. Great topical discussions but very theoretical not much for practical discussion, which is common with Profs who were career students. I could have taken or left classes as long as you did your reading you were fine. Was told he was a harder marker but did not effect me.
A wonderful class. Reading is heavy, but it's a senior-level course—what do you expect? He marks a little easier than you'd expect based on in-class discussions.
