If you can understand how to observe a piece of text and incorporate literary criticism into your own adventurous interpretation, you will rock this course. It was truly inspiring and eye-opening. Marcela was encouraging me to continue to write. I got credit and confidence as a writer of ideas. I highly recommend her course. I took it online.

There are weekly discussion posts based on readings and you have to read 3 novels and numerous short stories. An essay, response paper, final project and participation will make up your mark. Shes not an extremely easy marker and this will NOT be an easy A. You must do a thorough analysis and write with perfect grammar to do well.

She's an amazing prof. Absolutely loved her lectures. She's clear in communicating what she requires on assignments and exams. I am def going to looking to take other courses with her.

She's an amazing prof. I usually hate ENG courses but her course was nice and interesting. She's a fair marker and is clear in her comments. She's always available if you need help with assignments.

A good prof. Do your readings, participate in class discussions, study for tests and you'll do fine. You get to write an autobiography for the final essay, and you're basically guaranteed an A for that. It was a pretty interesting class as well- got to watch a lot of media in class. And don't worry, the readings get easier.

Marcella is wonderful.. She knows her stuff. She makes the class interesting by combining ancient gothic literature with currect sci-fi films.. If you need to take a LL english course and want an enjoyable prof. take pop. culture english lit. U will not regret it!!

Marcela opened my eyes to the beauty of autobiography in its many forms and from many angles. She really wants to know what her students think, rather than wanting us to figure out what she thinks and then repeat that. A great prof with varied presentation media.

Marcella is one of the best professors that I have ever had the pleasure of learning from. She extended the lessons way past where most would have left them. Marcela is a fantastic instructor. If you love reading you will learn a lot with her and have fun. She makes a lot of time for discussions and opinions and she integrates various media such as music videos and film into the lit course to make it more interesting and effective. Keep up with all the readings and you can get an A.
