Prof. Ehrlick is not engaging. I took his Music Business 1 class, and I did not enjoy his teaching style, or his lack of enthusiasm on the subject. I do not recommend him as a professor, as course content was extremely male-centric and outdated, and he did not take the time to provide relevant points that our class could learn from.
Steven is clearly out of the loop when it comes to the current music industry. His old and outdated views have left him in the dust. Each lecture of his is 3 hours long but the information he gives could be put into 30 minutes. He clearly has no real plan for the lectures and just uses recycled information for years. Should've retired years ago.
Never knew you could make music business so boring. It's a class about the history of the Beatles so don't expect to learn anything about the actual business here. Only cared about himself and never listened to his amazing guest lecturers (if only he asked a single question related to them and not himself). Will never take his class again.
Talks for the entire 3 hours, and when it comes time to mention important answers he mumbles over them or gets a student to answer and does not repeat the response. He does want you to do well. Some of the exam questions were completely unfamiliar but he allows a cheat sheet to be used.
He takes the entire 3 hours for lecture which can feel heavy but it is very engaging due to his experience in the music industry. Exam and assignments are easy if you show up and engage in class material and group work.
One of my favourite profs I have ever had! His lectures can be challenging, but overall the course content is pretty fair. If you want to pursue a career in the music industry you will love this prof. He has a lot of professional knowledge from working in music and provides students with aspects that will benefit future success.
Lectures are hit or miss- sometimes are really engaging, but his slides kind of jump around- some things are covered multiple times like he forgot he already discussed it and other things are completely skipped. I feel like its easy to do well if you put in the work, but he makes it so you have to do more work than you'd otherwise need to.
The worst professor I've ever had. Says he wants you to succeed but will be vague when he does "answer" your questions. Lectures for 3 hours with no break. Condescending. Rambles for hours. I taught myself everything. Makes interesting and simple topics sound highly complex and boring. This class should be called "Beatles 101"
Steven is unfortunately one of my least favourite profs I've had in RTA. Talks for all 3 hours when content could be condensed. Doesn't use slides let alone post them. Incredibly slow grader, went into exam with maybe 1 grade. Material has clearly been recycled from the 15 years he's taught the course and it shows
I had Steven as my professor in 4 classes throughout my 4 years at University, he is by far the most uncomplicated, calm, clear and fair professor I've ever had. All assignments he prepares for class make sense and are simple enough if you actually bother to come to class, listen and show that you care about the subject.
