James Helik

A very important cultural subject where we have learned a lot. Our professor is a unique instructor. He is always very kind, patient, helpful, and genuinely concerned about his profession and his students! It means a lot to me that he always helps me with information whenever I ask, regarding his subject or other matters. I appreciate his feedback.

He is an AMAZING prof, but you have to attend all classes, because he ONLY asks about the stuff he talks about. He follows the text VERY closely, and if you know the text, you can get 100%. But, if you attend the classes, you don't have to read the ENTIRE text. He's a GREAT guy, though i wish he provided some office hours. :(

By far, the BEST prof yet!! knows the course inside and out. Uses very clear examples and explains everything you need to know. He wants everyone to do well, and very reasonable. Gives you many options and is very precise. Tells you exactly what you need to know for mid-term and final. Very fast with marking. Very funny and super nice. =) AMAZING

Very nice professor. Straight forward, not trying to make your life a living hell like other professors. I didn't read the book but rather studied from the powerpoint presentations and listened to his very clear and detailed lectures, and still ended up with an A.

Very straight forward. Very easy... just studying the main points in the text. He goes over them in his lectures in great detail... didn't pay to much attention but ended up with an A. He emphasis that your written English for assignments must be clear... other than that take his course!

Great Prof. He wants his students to do well. Very fair. Very nice man. Quizes not hard. Midterm & final exams are straight forward. He tells you what to study and he will let you know what to cross out in your text book that you are not responsible for knowing. Class-not mandatory as he pulls everything from book. I got an A-. Take his class!

Jim is great prof. Really nice guy. Goofy. Makes course very easy. Examples he gives are great practice for tests. If you have someone to give you notes, then attendance is not mandatory. He tends to come to class late, so do I- great minds think alike. Course is An easy 'A'. Take Jim Helik.

He's a great teacher. Very nice and helpful. He explains things very well and is willing to go over stuff,if you don't understand. Mid-terms were fair and final was good. My grades went up with each test. He knows what he's talking about.

Prof. Helik is one of the few profs that can still explain things well. He uses great examples to help you understand a lot of economics concepts. Take his class, great professor!

Ok folks I just completed the course with Prof Helik in FALL 07 and take it from me what I say. In a nutshell very fair and nice prof lectures are right from the text book however he tells you what to worry about and not so if skip you do at your peril. Test and exam M.C. I slept through the semster and got A-. There is a term project with the team
