my grandmother died, I asked for an extension on my assignment due the following week... and he said he GUESS he would consider it but that so many other people had already asked for extensions...... enough said!

NO fair marking. you only get a final grade of 70 for a 10 pages essay with no comments or any clue of how the marks was divided.he is gone now :)

He is a really nice guy, there is no text book because the midterm and exam is 100% based on his lecture. I found the midterm and exam easy, the assignment is also ok because he will tell you if you're on the right track or not. Very interesting class

Pretty easy class and fair marker so be warned that if you want a good mark, you do have to study especially hard just to get above an 80. Its best to take notes on what he says as he expands on his slides. He has a trailer trash sister in law too :P

Easy course, Easy A. I do however not understand how people find him attractive? Hes young but nothing to drop your jaw at. Maybe for a Prof, if your the desperate type.

He was genuine and he tried his best to accommodate everyone. He took on too much this semester. Consequently, no matter how hard he tried he fell short and was often confused. But I enjoyed the class nonetheless. The course needs to screen their T.A.s better though.

I was dreading this class but Olivier made it so much fun, I loved going to class! Goofy, funny, adorable accent, and very intelligent. If he teases you, it means he likes you! Do the readings, speak up in seminars. He's a hard marker but he makes class interesting, take any class you can with him! Oh and very sexy!

Amazing prof, really loves history and it shows in his lectures. He keeps you interested, and is very clear. He's not a very easy marker though. You need to work hard and impress him.

World War 2 was an interesting class and it definitely helped having a fun and enthusiastic professor. I would say that whoever marked the essay was hard. Whether it was him or his TA. Overall, it was an enjoyable class and I recommend anyone taking it as an upper liberal. Take it with Prof. Courteaux

Don't let his kindness in lectures fool you, this guy will rip your essay apart. His comments are not constructive just critical. He is a nice enough guy outside of class but we aware of his marking!
