The professor may have been a good professor, but his lectures now revolve around Trump. Outside opinions of the concensus or any disagreements are not welcome at all even if the floor is open.
This prof is a 10/10. The first assignment is a key concept write-up (20%). The second is a critical review (30%). The third is the final exam (40%). Participation is worth 15%. JUST talk in class lol. It's all online and super straightforward. Put in some effort, and you'll be fine. People complain for no reason; he's honestly fantastic.
Some reviews miss the point; you won't appreciate this class if you're not open to real-world views and critical thinking. Disagreeing doesn't mean he's wrong; he's a prof for a reason. He cares, marks fair, and helps if you ask. I did well by doing the work. Speak up and ask questions, he encourages it. No dumb questions in his class!
He marks hard and gives nothing above a 75% on the midterm, exam and paper.
this class should be called Communism 101, nothing to do with its course title.
The professor is a nice person but lacks knowledge in economics. The class is more about his opinions than actual facts, the biggest issue is grading, if you disagree with his views, even with a solid argument, expect a low grade. It's frustrating because most of what he teaches is just personal opinion, not facts.
I really enjoyed the courses content but lectures were very dry at times. 2 hours of non stop talking and I could barely hear what the prof was saying. Also, the highest grade anyone can receive is an 81-82%.. even though he gives no negative feedback. I found that frustrating as I put a lot of effort into my written work.
Overall, he is a nice professor. However, his lecture participation pushes you to his worldview without room for a reasonable response. You will learn a lot in this course, but if you want high grades, just follow his worldview in class and in your submissions.
Very knowledgeable and interesting professor. Covered some of the specific final exam questions in class which was great. Not a hard marker, however there is a bunch of reading each week.
seems like a nice guy, and lectures are ok if a bit uninspiring. my issue was the grading; he would take off marks for criteria he had not given and in general was really tough. he posted the exam marks and the absolute highest marks he was giving were around 84-85, so don't take him if you want to keep a high GPA. i wish i hadn't.
