Kim Varma

She is phenomenal. She does have 3 exams, but they are really easy to get a very high grade on as long as you follow her feedback and listen properly in her lectures. She drops ALOT of hints. She even dropped one of her long answers (that she provides beforehand) because it was too much writing for some people. Def will take her again if I could!

Professor Varma is an amazing professor. Her lectures are heavy in content but the way she explains everything makes it easy. She genuinely wants to see her students do well and if you put in the effort you will get a good grade.

I love her. She is an amazing proffesor, she is so knowledgable, she teaches with passion, shes interesting. That aside, if you follow her guidelines, she marks very fair, she allows regrading too. She is the best crim proffesor hands down please take her, especially for CRM406.

Professor is amazing! Creates a supportive learning environment for students! Lectures are engaging and clear. Two exams worth 30% and a final worth 40%. MC comes from textbook definitions, and long answer comes from lecture. She prefers detailed and specific long answer responses, make sure to be as clear as possible! Would take this prof again!

Prof Varma is genuinely one of the best profs in the crim department. Yes this class is not easy but she does her best and truly cares about her students and is a great lecturer. The way to pass this class is to attend every lecture. You will learn a lot and it is content and exam heavy. She gives the questions before the exam so its so easy.

Do not listen to the other ratings. Prof is great at what she teachers and I have taken a couple of classes with her, shes great! Go to class and take notes and you will do good on tests. Shes easily accessible aswell and is more than happy to talk after class!

don't listen to the bad reviews! she is an amazing prof and she literally tells you what will be on her exams. do the work and you'll do great. I would definitely recommend taking a class with her :)

So genuinely annoying to see people complaining because they didn't put in the work. Dr. Varma is an amazing professor. She grades fairly and provides tutorials for all exams where she literally tells you exactly what she is looking for in your answers, and she gives the short answer questions in advance. Very kind, knowledgeable, and fair. 10/10.

Regret taking this class- the reviews are not accurate. It isnt that the content in this class is hard to understand. She doesn't grade fairly and doesn't care. There are way better profs in the Criminology department where you will get better grades and learn more.

Although she's a great prof and explains things in class very well, she grades exams horribly. She doesn't give you full marks even if your answers are correct. I received a 45% on the first midterm in her course when my answers were properly structured. And I also answered everything she asked. If she asks for short answer... write long answer
