This class was online and there were no assignments, just tests worth 30%. Tests were open book so that was helpful. Tutorials were mandatory attendance but very easy, marks are based on your participation in the tutorial discussions. All slides were posted along with extra study notes. Tests were pretty easy.
I had a good experience. My TA Michelle is great. I will probably end up with an A or A-.
Not AT ALL hard and can't imagine why anyone thinks she and her TAs are tough graders. She's just inflexible about deadlines and believes everyone is guilty of using AI until proven innocent.
Prof Mitu is a kind soul, you can tell she enjoys teaching even though her lectures can drag on for a long period of time for no reason, but overall she is good at explaining concepts which for my class was very much needed. She is not amazing, but not bad either. As long as you participate in some level in the tutorials, it's an easy class.
Prof has questionable taste in that she likes Bad Bunny
Watch out for the second test. I did bad because they were boring films I couldn't get through. There are so many great films that could be covered in the course but we had to watch Beans and Ararat just because they are Canadian.
You literally only have to watch the movies to get an A- or A. That's all they care about. I agree that it's harder to get an A+
Good professor. I didn't do any readings and still got an A. As long as you watch the movies (I even watched some in 1.5x speed) you'll be fine. It seems tough to get an A+ but I'm fine with my A. I watched the movies last minute to be honest but Dr Mitu Sengupta is a fair marker.
Amazing prof and course! If you genuinely take the time to do the readings and watch the films you will do excellent. You can tell she cares about students success and she just wants everyone to show that they watched the films. There's only 3 tests and weekly discussion posts (graded for completion).
