Jason is a pretty chill prof, he doesn't really care if you are late to class or if you can't make it he's cool about it. He is understanding as well. His lectures are quick and pretty easy to follow. He gives alot of free time to work on things. Overall he's chill and kind also funny
The book is the most ridiculous thing I have ever spent money on. The test questions are ridiculous and things we haven't spoken about and proctored on Zoom. Nothing is ever good enough when it comes to the final videos, very nitpicky, but no clear grading criteria or rubric, more on how he feels. Would not take again, switch the section ASAP
I dont know why the reviews are so negative. Had CLD 315 with Jason and ended up finishing with a decent mark. He is quite an easy marking and was very understanding
Jason lacks the warmth and personable skills it takes to be an effective professor, especially in the ECE field. He was quite snarky in lectures and emails which made it uncomfortable to ask questions in class. Classmates who took the other professor enjoyed the class and did quite well. My GPA dropped because I couldn't figure out a tin whistle.:(
Jason is a terrible professor. He is a self-righteous white man that thinks he is special for liking music. He does not care about his students whatsoever and inserts his own "struggle" when students ask for accommodations. You will get marked 0/have marks deducted over the smallest issues. He clearly knows nothing about teaching children.
Jason Nolan is by far the worst person I have ever encountered. He is disrespectful to and does NOT care about you. He made us play instruments that many of us have never played before and expected us to learn it by watching YouTube. He didn't even teach. ECE preaches about being respectful and support students clearly he missed that part.....
by far the worst professor ive ever had. he has no respect for you and doesnt care for you at all even if your life depended on it. his assignments are unreasonably hard for a creative arts course as well as his midterm and final. he just isnt a decent human im gonna be real honest. try to switch out to the other prof for this class coz this guy
Extremely disrespectful, and makes the creative 2 arts course way more challenging but also boring. Sits and talks about himself the majority of the time and doesnt care to understand how his students are feeling. Changes the marking schemes of his quizzes as he realizes his assignments are 10x harder than any other prof teaching creative art 2
Jason Nolan was an okay prof. His tests for Creative Arts 2 were very difficult and heavily based on readings. I had missed a few video submissions and asked for something for extra credit but he was very blunt and off-handed in his emails. I was struggling this semester and he is not someone that you could rely on.
The midterm test and final exam were both pretty unfair, as the TA and himself both spent more time talking about themselves than the actual course material in lectures. An extremely unfair marker as he docs marks for the smallest mistakes in major assignments. Did not enjoy taking this class at all, would not recommend any classes with this prof.
