Alan was such a kind and caring professor. He genuinely wants his students to succeed and asks for feedback on how to improve the course frequently. Be prepared, there's a LOT of readings (2 textbooks, 50-70 pages a week), but as long as you have solid study skills you should be fine. There are also in class participation activities weekly
Prof. Sears is the best professor I've ever had. His lectures are highly engaging, and he clearly cares a lot about his students. Knows each one by their name. The assignment and exam criteria were very well explained. We even did mock grading in class to understand how long answers are graded. I wish he taught more of my required courses.
Alan was an amazing professor and more importantly an incredibly sweet person. He cares about his relationships with his students and works hard to create interactive lectures to help students understand the material. Lovely professor, would take a class of his again in a heartbeat.
I have never given a professor a review but I literally went on google and looked up this website just so I can let you guys know how awesome Alan is. He is literally the sweetest man I have ever met. He is just so kind and helpful when you have questions and really knows what he's talking about! you can tell he's passionate about his lectures!
Alan is such a caring, interpersonal professor! He truly was the most accommodating, and you could tell he lit up while discussing course content. He went above and beyond to incorporate real-life skill building and appealed to students who are unsure of post-graduation life. You can tell that beyond covering course content, he generally cares.
Very nice and caring. More interested in considering student success as a way for students to find out who they are themselves rather than subscribing an expectation.
One of the nicest guys I've ever had a class with. Very down to earth, and really supportive if you need help outside of class. Easy 80.
This was the most useless course I ever took, I dont even know what the overall goal was. Alan was really great and kind though. I felt like he truly cared about all his students. From going to his office hours I could tell he really wanted to give us the best course possible.
great prof, very personable. podcasts instead of video lectures were a nice change. assignments were kind of unclear, instructions could have been clarified
Really enjoyed the course. Learn a lot by attending class lectures every week regularly. Great experience in group community assignment. Professor Alan is very supportive, kind and helpful.
