Lixia Yang

I really didn't mind having her as an instructor. Her lectures can get a little bit dull but are necessary to attend as in-class assignments were worth around 10% of the final grade. You'll do well in this course if you're good at memorizing things

very very tough grader, walked out of the final exam being sure i would have 80 something, ended up with a 65. Overall, she is kind and caring but a very very tough grader.

Dr. Yang is very clear and easy to understand (anyone else who says otherwise is being very problematic). She uses videos in her lectures to explain concepts, which really help you recall studies' findings/concepts. Her exams are very straightforward; she tests you on what she says she will. An interesting class taught well and thoughtfully.

dr. Yang is very kind! i like that she brings up her personal experience as examples. the exams/assignments are fairly straightforward--TA's can be tough markers, but not too bad. she has an accent but it's not that hard to follow tbh. i love child development so i enjoyed the content/videos, which she only shows during lecture so be sure to attend

She's a good professor but personally I didn't enjoy the content, lectures will have most of the material needed. Does in class participation for half of the semester. Exams are straightforward with no hard or tricky questions. Makes the class fun

Amazing and caring professor who knows what is being taught and do it in a well structured way.

Posted the wrong grade for a midterm.

Talks for much longer than needed-unbelievably boring. She's not passionate about the subject and substitutes actual information with overexplaining simple concepts. Doesn't have structured slideshows, which is awful considering all she does is read off of the slides.

She tends to ramble a lot but I had to attend lectures due to the in-class activities. Tests were fairly easy, she actually asks what she said she will. Also replied back really fast whenever I emailed her. The TA was just a hard marker & the overall class material isn't that interesting which may bore you.

Dr. Yang is the best! She's the kindest and most caring professor. I can't understand how anyone can leave her a negative review. Her lectures are greatly paced and her marking is fair. She also takes the time to really listen to students' concerns. The course itself isn't too complicated but has a lot of material. I definitely recommend her class!
