From Day 1, her course sounds appealing. However, I suggest you drop the course if you do not 100% agree with her. She picks one student, and chronically verbally slaps them down despite mandatory participation. Sadly, I was chosen from class one and lived to regret my decision to remain in her class. If you arent her 'chosen one' class is alright.
Great professor! She is very passionate about what she teaches. she tries her best to teach in a unique way. If you have a real interest in sociology then she is a very good professor. If you don't then you might not enjoy her classes as much. I would recommend her and take a class with her again!
Honestly she is really tough. Like she expects you to already have a firm understanding of SOC. She does respect your opinion though because she asks you how she's doing and lets you create the rules of the class. Although she is literally savage when it comes to calling people out. I wouldn't want her again but if you have her get on her good side
Not a very good prof. Would not take another course with her in the future.
Good lady, but the work load doesn't make sense in my opinion, seemed like needless work but she includes it so you have the chance to increase or (decrease) your end grade. I was annoyed with her little assignments but its not difficult.
It makes me sad to see so much negative feedback, because I loved her and the class. Very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject, also very sweet and funny. I enjoyed the discussion-based portions of the class, with such topics it's important to have communal discussions. I liked that she brought up relevant current events for discussion.
Enthusiastic prof! Found her class to be average in difficulty and keep up with the readings and you will do fine. If you have taken other SOC courses this will be easy. Found her grading fair and TA feedback helpful. Topics and readings were very interesting . I did not like the group work every week. Did not post grades on blackboard.
