Not very engaging and lacklustre demeanor; does not inspire you to learn.

Elaine is a lovely professor, but the work can be tough! Her classes are informative, and she keeps track of attendance, so try not to skip. Her PowerPoints are helpful and guide you through the readings. Stay on top of that, and you'll do well in the class. Good luck!

Her exams are challenging. She marks fairly and good to accommodate for her exams. She explains content well. Lots and lots of readings. Not the worst but not the best.

Teaching style can be a bit dull, as her voice is quiet and monotone, which makes it easy to sleep. She does a good job explaining the dry and challenging material. To succeed in this class, it's important to attend lectures, read the book, and review the PowerPoints. Extra effort is necessary to achieve a good grade. Not horrible, but not great.

He voice is so calmed, that can get boring with the already boring Theoretical content. She marks fairly, I got a good mark on my paper even when I didn't have much hope on how repetitive it was to write 10 pages. She is okay, I have no problem taking one of her classes again. You will have to do extra readings to catch up, but it's okay

Prof doesn't even follow her own grading rubric and doesn't grade by program mandated guidelines. Prof is also bias if you don't show up to her snooze fest PowerPoint per vetam lectures that are a completely outdated, she will grade you harder. Any topic for assignments the prof doesn't like she will mark down. Boring, Bias, Outdated.

Don't take any course with her if you can avoid it! You will thank me later. As all other people have said, she is an unrealistic marker with no guidance and no empathy for students!

Took the course in January 2023. I am writing a review at this time for any of those interested in taking this course with this professor. DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE WITH HER. It was a mental health class but I had mental health issues after this class. Assignment feedback is broad and even if you book a meeting to discuss your work, its not helpful.

If you want to know why we pay university so much money for NO REASON, THIS PROFESSOR WILL SHOW YOU WHY! From vague instructions, to not teaching in class AT ALL but rather assigning 5-6 chapters per week, and then only asking you to participate in "Class discussions" rather than reviewing and evaluating the material. prepare to cry!

If you value your mental health, do not take this course. She is a very strict marker and gives students a hard time. She is not a supportive professor. I was excited at the beginning to take this course because I am big on mental health but that all changed not long into the course.
