Cool course and an accommodating prof. The assignments are more creative, no exam, and attendance is marked. Marking is a bit harder than other classes, but really nothing intense. Lectures can be long, would be better if shortened, chill class to be in.
Never had a more critical and particular essay grader—the grades I received did not represent my average grades for other classes. Lectures are not engaging. She is understanding in some circumstances. Overall not a good learning experience.
For CMN 216, Prof. Meyer was very helpful and gave clear grading criteria and helpful feedback. I will say though, her lectures are quite boring. Since this class was taken online, I did well and got all 90s on my assignments as I made sure to study her grading criteria and listen to her feedback.
Meyer is an unreasonably critical marker and a completely unengaging speaker making lecture retention difficult. I do respect that Meyer keeps her political ideologies away from course content and her lectures though. Unfortunately, this is a huge issue within TMU's Communications program.
She went on about facing repercussions for a zoom bug and started pinning it on a student.
ya'll BEWAREE.. she's a sweet person but not a good teacher. She marks way too hard .. and her outlines and D2L outlines are very confusing and all over the place. her lectures dragggg on and its really hard to focus on her lessons...
She seems like a nice person but teaching isn't her strength, especially teaching in communications, her rubrics can be confusing and I found all her instructions were very vague and I had to go searching through her d2l page to find answers and even when I emailed her she didn't really answer my question. Her classes are lecture heavy and drag on.
Okay, I will make this as simple as possible. She's a good human being, just not the best professor. She has the potential improve tho. She doesn't engage the class, she skips over all the activities, & has 75+ slides usually. It gets boring & people start leaving her class very often because of the stretched lecture. Good luck if you have her.
Okay so as a person she Is sweet and flexible but she's one of those teachers where she grades the littlest things off . Like I mean unnesscary. It feels more like a grammar punctuation class. It feels like she doesn't even care about the assignment itself. Just triple check all of your work. If you can, avoid having her as your prof, butshes nice
There are quite a few assignments for this class, and her lectures get really boring because she speaks very slowly and with monotone. Her marking for this class is pretty easy and lenient because it's a first year class.
